1 day Rwanda Twin lakes cycling Tour

Today our 1 day twin lakes cycling tour will start early morning at 8.00 am from Musanze. The twin lakes are located in northern Rwanda at the base of Mountain Muhabura and close to the border with Uganda. The twin lakes – Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo are surrounded by steep hills and large waterfalls with a backdrop of the Virunga volcanic mountains which gives this area such beautiful views. Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo are separated by a 1 km wide strip of land with water flowing from Lake Burera to Lake Ruhondo, they have a combined area surface of 2800 hectare.

Th tour will cover 17 km from Musanze town making it 34 km in total. The tour is through small trading centers and several villages. You will have opportunities of interacting with local people on your way, the children love seeing the cyclists pass by so they will be eager to share greetings with you. We shall arrive at the twin lakes and cross by canoe to the beautiful Ruhondo resort for our lunch. Fresh Rwandan coffee is available and you can choose to have fresh fish from the lake on your menu as you enjoy the views of 5 peaks of the virunga volcanoes of Muhabura, Gahinga, Sabyinyo, Karisimbi and Bisoke. Transfer back to Kigali for drop off.
