4 Days Kidepo Tour
Overview
This 4 days safari will take you to Kidepo valley national park to observe beautiful scenery, on exciting guided game drive, cultural encounters plus the fine dining experience at your lodge. Situated in north eastern Uganda Karamoja region, your journey to Kidepo is quite long but takes you through the picturesque karamoja landscapes. Traveling by road in 4WD vehicle about 570 sq km from Kampala can take 12-13 hours to reach your accommodation in or outside the park. This way is cost effective than the option of fly in safari.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kidepo valley national park
At about 06:00am early morning you will be picked up by your guide start the long journey to Kidepo valley. The 11-13 hours of driving allows you to experience breathtaking scenery of Karomojong landscapes en route. You will have stops and breaks to allow you stretch and eat food and drinks. You will reach your accommodation at night for dinner and overnight.
Day2: Game drive and community walk
You wake up early and enjoy a cup of coffee and after go for morning game drive into the Narus valley for observe elephants, buffaloes, lion, hyena, cheetahs. Return to your accommodation for lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will walk to the community to discover the indigenous IK and Karamojong cattle warrior’s traditions such as Manyatta’s, traditional dances, arts and crafts, and ways of dressing. Return back for dinner and overnight at your lodge/ hotel.
Day 3: Game drive and nature walk
After breakfast, early morning you go for a guided nature walk in the savannah to the Mulongole dry mountains providing opportunity for bird watching and photography. After the nature walk, you return to the lodge to rest and have lunch. At about 04:00am, evening game drive will include sundowner/viewing of sunset in the Narus river valley. Return to enjoy diner and overnight at your lodge.
Day 4: Return back to Kampala
On the final day in Kidepo valley, you will have breakfast and depart at 08:00am with packed lunch. You will reach Kampala late evening at around 09-10pm and end your safari.
